Boy, I was at my bud's gunshop and he's got this stuff called bluestuff or something like that, its this new reblueing stuff. And he was showing me how to use it. Its not a cold blue, or a hot blue, but you do use either a hair drier or a propane torch with it, and it has an activator you put on it after you apply the main chemical. You can touch up a gun, and never even tell it was touched up in a matter of a few minutes. I mean this stuff is awesome. It kinda scares me though, you could touch up an 80% gun and make it look like a 98% gun. So you never know what your buying. And I mean the stuff is good. Not like any of the other cold blue things I've tried or seen. This stuff is too good.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

I've seen that stuff too. It's put out by Novum Solutions. One product called Blue Wonder which removed rust without harming the bluing and the actual bluing stuff you're talking about. A local pawn shop near my work is selling both products and he had done one side of a revolver and left the other side wanting to show the difference. It was amazing. Oh, I know, I'll never look at a blued used gun at a gunshow again. Can't judge by left over finish anymore.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

Yep, thanks for the info. Now I need to order a kit and start selling some like new, 60% condition guns, hehehehe. No really, I need them to touch up some of my holstered ones that's beginning to wear. GD

I ordered some of this stuff from Brownells after reading your post, I have a few Mausers that I'm going to try this out on, I'll let you know how it works out. I'd love to return my old mausers to 100%.

Lee: What does a kit go for from Midway or Brownells? Sounds like

joeaf1911a1,
Midway has a 1 oz kit for $25, 2 oz for $33, and 4 oz of their cleaner for $8. A couple people reviewed it on midway's site and they seem to love it as well.

I'll let you guys know how it really works tomorrow night, I just reblued my Colt Woodsman with it, it was the worst gun I have, that could really use it, other than a 7.65 Argentine Mauser, and I wasnt ready to tackle that baby, until I knew for sure this stuff would work. It is suppose to take 24 hours to achieve results, so I will update you tomorrow, cross your fingers.

MY RESULTS ARE:
I used this product for my first time yesterday. I am quite happy with the results. Its not a perfect outcome, but I attribute that to my inexperience with the product. This product works beautifully on bare metal, very nice finish! I believe if I were to go over it again I could blend in the areas that needed reblued better with the original finish, but its so close now only people that are picky would care, or someone buying it, but I'm not selling so its ok for me. I used a propane torch to heat up the metal, and I believe I may have got it too hot, I'd recommend using a hair dryer, they suggest either method, but I'd use the hair dryer next time. I buffed out the finished metal with 0000 steel wool when finished and this gun looks about as good as you are going to get it without having it professionally reblued. I have used other methods of cold blueing and there is no way I will ever use them again, not after using this method. I highly recommend this product to anyone interested in touching up a firearm. If you have a firearm with bare metal, or you feel like taking all the existing blue off, this is definitely a product you will want to try. Good Luck!

A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.
Ryan - Thanks for the nice e-mail. I visit GB forum and several others
but the main one is the Guns % Ammo magazine forums which I really like.
I have given away some samples of the product over there in order to get
feedback for the consumers and we are very keen on listening - so that
we can improve our products however possible. We are a small, new
company so we have a long way to go and I believe the only way we can do
that is to produce products that people like you want and need.
Since you have internet access, please go to our website at
www.novumsolutions.com and copy the "full" detailed instructions. The
instructions on the bottle and/or box are limited but on the website we
have detailed instructions that kind of walk you through the process.
We also have a page of Tips & techniques which might be helpful along
with instructions for using the gun cleaner by itself.
I hope you purchased the gun cleaner gel also as it is needed to give
the desired results.
Good Luck! Let me know if you need and help or have any questions at
all.
Best Regards,
Ken Gibbs
