Went through the part of Bass Pro today that I've never been through before. The part that has all the mounted animals. I AM COMING TO ALASKA TO HUNT WITH YOU! I couldnt believe the size of the Alaskan Moose, and the big old Grizzlies. That is one cool display they have there at Bass Pro.

The Bass Pro mounts are bigger, much bigger, no offense, yours are big enough for me to shoot. How am I gonna get all the meat back in the trunk of my Taurus? Eh, should fit, what wont fit I guess I'll have to eat before leaving, he, he, he....

GHD, in my neck of the woods, Caribou is open August 1st to March 31st, Moose is open Sept 1st to Sept 20th and Black Bear is open all year with a 3 bear limit. Brown Bear is open Sept. 10th-Oct 10th. Best time for fish and a Caribou, black bear is Aug. I went out this past weekend looking to see what was running around and saw several Caribou and 1 Black Bear, none of which was within stalking distance. Maybe this weekend will be better. Waterfowl season coming up on Sept. 1st so there will be a good mix of things to look for starting on that date.

    rugster,
I was in the store, the original I believe, which is located in Springfield, MO. Its the show place of the Bass Pros. If you ever get the chance to go there and go into the Nature Museum where all the mounts are, do it. Its not free, and its not cheap, but I was walking around with a limp the whole time from a 3rd leg. Animals like that are more exciting than winning the lottery, or a woman you'd rate as a 10. When you see a polar bear, or a grizzly bear that looks as if its standing every bit of 10 ft. tall on its hind legs, it just does something to you. The Alaskan moose that they have there is so darn big I wouldnt shoot it unless I had 2 horses to pack it out and a partner to help me lift the quarters. It was incredible. They have bison, African animals of all types, my dream is a Kudu, the Eland is huge, but too big, and its horns are the same size as the Kudu, more or less, so I will take the Kudu, cause you dont get the meat to take home anyway. Fish of all kinds, N. American animals of all types, its just incredible, like a kid in a candy store I was. Ducks, geese, snakes, everything you can imagine I think, from baby animals to full grown, all mounted. Examples of sheds all from the same white tail deer, from birth to death, that was information I liked. You really gotta go if you ever get the chance. Its great for educating the children, mine especially, on all the stuff you like and would like them to know. I get excited typing about it, I wish I could go more often, its really great.
