Bass Pro prices.....

Me and idsman75 are going to Bass Pro Saturday, so today I took my family just to get one last look with them before Saturday, so I dont drag idsman all over going nuts. I havent looked at gun prices any where besides WalMart in a few years. The internet has been my buying store. Today I saw that those guys that have expensive stuff for sale on the auctions arent so crazy. Bass Pro has prices on guns that suck! There wasnt a gun there that I couldnt get from the internet, and every single one of them cost as much as the ones that I wouldnt touch on the internet because they are too expensive. I guess the guys that sell guns on the auctions that are cheaper than others' prices, are really getting good dealer prices. I would never buy a gun from Bass Pro, geez, being stuck in Ft. Lost in the Woods has really gotten me out of touch with the real world.

Cabellas are much more competitive on their prices than Bass Pro.
And sometimes they will have a gun in their "Gun Library" that you just wouldn't find elsewhere.
Otherwise I'll try to buy everything from my local dealer, so he can stay in business.

Since I have been doing this quality assurance thing in the Corps for so long, I applied for a quality assurance job with Cabela's. I shop Bass Pro now and then, Cabela's seems to be the better choice. If Bass Pro is close enough to drive to, surely I would visit.

All the High Class places, that do million dollar ads, are expensive.

You dont think they are going to pay for all that advertising do you?

robs guns: my son and i are going to the bass pro shop in st charles sunday. is the one your going to? i never buy guns from them because of the prices. in fact i buy very little from them but it is a good place to see what is available. you can also attend some of there seminars free and maybe pick up a tip or trick or two to use in hunting or fishing. I make sure to stop at Cabelas every time I go visit the family in Minneapolis. The Owatonna, MN location is maybe a mile off my route home. I would never consider buying a gun there unless I was looking for a KNIGHT muzzleloader. It seems that the gun/sporting goods stores sell the cheap KNIGHTS. Cabelas has an excellent selection. A muzzleloader is a gun that I would want to handle before I purchase. If I am in the market for a gun that I want to buy and then have the opportunity to handle it, it's hard not paying the extra $20 and walking out with the gun that day. Call me impulsive. I'll admit it. For the past three months I've been considering my next gun purchase. As soon as I think I have it nailed down another idea pops into my head. Hopefully the gun show and Bass Pro Shops in Springfield will cure me of that this weekend. It seems that I will either be purchasing a Browning Gold rifled shotgun or a KNIGHT Super Disc.
