Hey guys, would someone please take a look at this auction and tell me if they see the same thing wrong with the lines of the stock as I do? Look carefully. I dont want to give it away, cause maybe I'm wrong. Rob.

Offhand looks like a nice gun to me. If no one sees anything, enlighten us, ok?

The amount of the upper part of the trigger guard, along with the magazine well that sticks out from the bottom of the stock, is not correct. The floor plate should be right up against the bottom of the stock, no part of the mag. well should be visible, the trigger guard top should be covered by more wood. This is very strange, looks nothing at all like any other picture of a 1917 in the P-14 or P-17 models I've seen, nor does it look like the one I have sitting right in front of me. Could it be a stock from a P-17 on a P-14, or vice versa, I forget which model it is, I dont have the auction on screen right now.It says 30-06, so it'd have to be a P-14 stock on a P-17. I thought the only diff. in stocks was the volley sights, which would be on the left side, the side we dont see. Someone knows the answer to this, I know they do. Hmmmmm???

I guess I'm with Jonk. I can't see anything wrong with it either, but I've also never laid eyes on one, so I really don't know what I'm looking for. Be sure to tell me what I'm not seeing, Robs -Ralph

There are two screws, one in front of the mag. well, and one behind the trigger guard. I tryed loosening the screws on mine, first the rear one, then retightening, and then loosening the other. And it doesnt pop down with just one screw loose, or even completely removed. I think you got something there Saxon, but I think both screws have to be loose to have this occur. Who knows?
