Shooting Ranges in Illinois

Hello. This is my first post. I came here by accident, looking at the "want ads" from the Gunbroker main page. My first question is why the Forums here are under the want ads link. I wouldn't have found it, if not by just clicking around. The only place I can shoot a rifle close to my home is Buffalo Rock, in Ottawa Illinois. Its a fine place to shoot, but I'm looking for something more. Is there anywhere near Illinois to shoot hard targets?. I would really like the popup type that police use. I would alse like to see what my guns would do on cars, trees, etc. I am willing to travel, so don't hold back your posts. I really like this site. After finding these forums, I have come back everyday reading them. Good shooting.

Welcome Ralph. Sorry I can't help you as I live in Indiana but I just wanted to say hello. I'm sure someone else can help you though. I too have found this to be a friendly bunch even though we all have our own ideas and ways of doing things, we all have guns in common. Welcome aboard.

Hey ramel*** welcome to the board. Your desire to shoot TREES,CARS,ETC sort of rubs me the wrong way. I live in IL and unless you shoot your own trees and cars I'll catch you and open up a giant can of woop -* on your sorry carcass. We don't need any more slob shooters unless I'm mistaken. have a nice day!!

If you read my first post, you would see I'm looking for a "Shooting Range". This is a place where you pay to get in, and shoot whats there. I have seen videos from the internet of other people being able to shoot something other than a paper targets.

rameleni1 - Let me know if you find any ranges like that. I live in that ridiculously over-regulated state as well. Good luck.
