Anyone having any luck....I had just about given up as it has been so dry that the streams I fish are almost dry. Stopped off at the Rock River last night and caught 7 nice smallies, a couple of crappies, a big Drum and 19" Largemouth...all on my Ultralite with 4lb test. [:D]Think I will stop off again tonight

Still plenty hot here even with regular evening showers the last few days. Fished Lake Ray Hubbard yesterday. It's the lake for Dallas'water supply and sits between the city limits and the small town of Rockwall.

Not known for big bass although the lake record is over 14#'s. We caught several 2-to 3-1/2# largemouth, all on buzzbaits. All were shallow around some type of wood/vegetation mix.

Of course, just going is enough for me. [;)]

Surf fishing action is just starting to heat up for the fall on the Maryland-Delaware beaches. Caught a bunch of small blues and two rockfish Tuesday, going out again this weekend.
This is my other way too expensive hobby.[:D][:D]

    Bubba Joel,
    where are you exactly?

I plan on fishing Palo Dura Canyon this fall. Have planned it twice, but each time it's been so low on water you can't get a boat off the trailer.

Get some water between now and December, I'll be there. You'd be welcome to join us. Fishing with Fred Wall from Amarillo.

Southwest Michigan has been great. Spent a week at the lake and bagged 255 7,8 & 9" bluegills with the occasional beer-bottle Perch.
    It's going to be a BIG fish-fry.

    Blackout caused massive pollution

    By TOM HENRY
    BLADE STAFF WRITER

The nation's worst power outage has taken a toll on the ecology of Lake Erie and its tributaries, including the Detroit and Cuyahoga rivers.

Officials said millions of gallons of raw or partially treated sewage have been discharged into the lake and streams from as far west as Ann Arbor, Mich., to communities east of Cleveland. That could drive up bacteria counts for boaters and swimmers who hope to use the lakes for relief from the August heat.

Cleveland had one wastewater treatment plant alone discharge more than 4 million gallons of sewage into Lake Erie over two days, Kara Allison, Ohio Environmental Protection Agency spokesman, said.

Records show the discharges have prompted officials in the Cleveland area to be on guard for signs of cryptosporidium, the parasite blamed for as many as 110 deaths and 400,000 illnesses in Milwaukee after it apparently entered that city's water supply in 1993.

Releases are attributed to power failures and would not likely be subject to enforcement, Ms. Allison said.

In Michigan, state Department of Environmental Quality spokesman Patricia Spitzley declined to speculate about the environmental impact of such discharges from the Detroit area.

"We're not there yet. We're just doing triage," she said.

Right now it sucks. It's been really slow the last few weeks. I went with a buddy from work the other night for about three hours and between us we only caught one bass. We threw everything we had. Spinners, buzzbaits, crankbaits, worms, jerkbaits, frogs, mice, etc. We even went to smaller baits in the hope of maybe catching some crappies. Nothing would bite.
William81--Where are you that your fishing the Rock River? I'm about a half hour from Dixon. Maybe we could meet up sometime and wet some line togther.

    It's a dog-eat-dog world...and nine times out of ten I have on Milk-Bone underwear.

JustC--I'm in Easton, near St. Michaels. Usually fish Indian River Inlet, or on the beach just north of there.

My area in Ca. the small lakes are turning everything has gone from hot to 0 for trout and bass. I myself ain't been out, but my fishing buddys tell me it is as dead as at it can be. The slabs (bluegill) are on and off.

The Black Marlin season was a disappointment but the occasional yellow fin made up for it.

Smallmouths were plentiful but kinda small on the Juniata this year. Always a hoot with the kids along, though.
