Taliban invites Bush, Blair for a duelMon Nov 05 11:09:18 2001 ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (UPI)-- Afghanistan's ruling Taliban militia on Monday proposed a duel among President George W. Bush, British Prime Minister Tony Blair and its leader Mullah Mohammad Omar."The Americans have launched propaganda that Mullah Omar has gone in hiding, so I will propose that Mr. Blair and Mr. Bush should take Kalashnikovs and come to a specified place where Mullah Omar will appear with the Kalashnikovs to determine as to who will run," Taliban Foreign Minister Maulvi Wakil Ahmed Mutawakil was quoted as saying by Iran's IRNA news agency."Mullah Omar changes places because of security," he said at the Taliban Foreign Ministry's Guest House in Kandahar.. "He effectively runs affairs of the government as in the past."Mutawakil also reiterated the Taliban's claim that U.S. soldiers and "spies" had been arrested in Afghanistan, but he refused to provide details of the incidents.Ruling out the possibility of any negotiated solution to the hostilities in Afghanistan, Mutawakil said the United States had closed doors for talks."After the American refusal to hold talks, now to whom we should talk to?" he asked.He said the Taliban would welcome all volunteers, but said they were not needed until a ground battle began.Since Oct. 7, U.S. planes have bombed Afghanistan in retaliation for the Taliban's refusal to hand over Osama bin Laden, the man Washington says masterminded the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on New York and Washington that killed some 5,000 people. http://www.drudgereport.com/flash1.htm

    now, I know I posted a reply...what the @#$#@##$$ happened to it? I evan thought it was politically correct... let me see if I can remember how it went... Is this a joke or what? don't they know what war is? A duel, for crying out loud? What is that supposed to solve? does any one elce understand what war means? Yes we will have casualties..yes we will have prisoners of war, yes we will have missing in action. that is the price we have to be greatfull to pay...this is war, buddy,and if we can't accept the cost, then we have no business in the business of it. Don't let any of us be fooled into beliving this is gonna be pretty. A "duel" between three leaders? just the thought alone is ludicrous. does anyone for one minute buy into the crazy idea that the citizens standing behind any of the proposed leaders, would actually concede to the outcome of such a folly? All that would be achieved is the lustful vengence seeking retaliation that is already enacted in the driving force of this war. Does any one of you(BIN LADEN'S FOLLOWERS)think that we would give up if you killed our freely elected leader? NO. Or if your leader dies? do you think we will except that as payment in full for the 5000+ lives? NO. He is not worth one of those inocent lives. Far from it....You who know who you are, will pay for what you have set in motion..Kill them all, and let GOD sort them out...

    I actually wonder if Omar is still walking, as it sounds alot like propaganda to make such a stupid statement.Like " maybe if they think Omar will show up for the duel, then maybe they think he is still alive, therefore they won't realize our leader is dead, and won't know how close they are to winning " How about the followers, Do they even know if he is still alive? maybe they are trying to boost that morale, also.
