Who owns one and how do you get one if they are not made in your state?

OK, so what is a ballistic knife? One that propels its blade like a dart?
The blade shots out of he handle; usually powered by a spring, but sometimes with compressed gas. These were importable into the USA up until around 1985 when the Congress got wind of a new "weapon of death and destruction" and passed a law which more or less made them the same as so called switchblades: Not importable and cannot be moved across state lines. Quite a few states have banned them outright but they are not actually illegal under federal law.

its novel at best, i would rather have a gun, if your close enough for that knife to be effective, your almost close enough to be disemboweled by one of the legal knives i carry daily
If you can find them in kit current value is $500 and up depending on condition.
That said I don't know of any makers in any states that allow them.
