mauser 48 or 48A??

i am still doing my research on muasers and am wondering what is the diffence between the 48 and 48A and which is better. i am getting more and more anxiouse to work that bolt.thanksmdcac

    mdcac - buy both.Wish I could tell you the difference but I never have taken the time to study that much about the types of weapons that are out there.I just like buying them.

    From what I understand the 48 was built in Germany. The 48A was built in Yugoslavia on German tools for the Germans. When Germany lost the war the Yugos continued to build them using their own Trademark as 48A. A website that would be very informative for you is milsurpshooter.com

    48 has machined bottom metal, 48A has stamped bottom metal. That's the only difference.
