MOREA, Pa. (August 16, 2002 1:16 p.m. EDT) - Three adults were found shot to death in the kitchen of a home in this small Pennsylvania village and a young child was found dead in his bed nearby, authorities said.
Another man apparently caught in the rampage was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head, though his condition was not immediately available Friday.
"It looks like they were just sitting around the table," Schuylkill County Coroner James Langon said of the two women and one man found dead Thursday night. He said the child found dead in his bed appeared to be about 3 years old.
The identities of the victims were not immediately released, but Langon said the injured man, the child and one of women lived in the duplex and the other victims were neighbors in the community about 100 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
State police declined to release any information Friday morning.
One neighbor said she thought the family had lived in the neighborhood for less than a year.
"It's very calm and quiet. Nothing like this ever happened," said Marie Strenchock, who lives at the other end of the street.
