need advice on lazer sight purchase

unsure what lazer sight to purchase. they range from a low $29.00 to $106.00 clear up to over $500 for the green lazer. It appears that lazer light projection is limited by the govt. to 500 to 700nm light frequency and to 5mw of power. That would make it seem that even the cheapest lazer sight, for example the ones sold for paint ball guns at $29.00, would be just as good as the ones that sell for much more. Thanks for any advice.
