Yep, Judge. There's an abundance of free energy in the universe.....in fact, I've mounted an antenna on my tinfoil hat to collect it.

JD,I can't get the page to load.Xracer,The energy of the universe is unlimited--infact the energy available to us on this planet is, for all practical purposes, unlimited too. And devices CAN be built to capture it today (I'm not talking about futuristic "concepts"). JD gets all upset because this technology is being suppressed and nobody cares; I actually am not morally opposed to the suppression--as I consider the human animal (for the most part) incapable of "handling" the technology...just look what people do with what they already have...[This message has been edited by competentone (edited 01-21-2002).]

Why is this all so confusing to you JD? It's all about the money. We're heavily invested in Petroleum, and it's going to be that way until that is exhausted. Then and ONLY then will the "miraculous" new power sources be unveiled to an anxious world, of course completely patented and controlled by the same guys who sold you all that oil, gas, and electricity. But for now, the sheep follow where the money leads them, and the money is in oil....Hey, I'm a killer machinist and mechanic. I can make piston engines run on gas, alcohol, methanol, and probably raw hydrogen with enough work and money...I could build a small powerplant in my backyard that would run my house on the garbage I throw out daily...but its just more convenient to simply pay the bastards and use the established product at hand, y'know?

AHHHH....so NOW I know what all this ruckus is about.....I just read it on the MSNBC site. Some electrical engineer out in the Brittish Isles (Ireland I think) claims to have cracked the Big One of all energy related science, Zero Point. Whereby a power generating device produces more power than is needed to keep itself running. this guy claims to have built one and has run his house off it for 17 months absolutely FREE. No fuel. The scientific community is not flocking to his door, having a still-sore * from the famous "cold fusion" scandal. In reality, it has been one of the accepted absolutes in electro-mechanical engineering that it is impossible to gain more power output from a device than is needed to input in order to run the device. But I don't believe in absolutes. I think Einsteins' theorys of relativity are full of obvious holes, and that lightspeed is NOT the constant of the universe he said it is...so if this guy, after working years, has found the Holy Grail, we should not give a * if major corporations get behind it or governments. That's the WORST thing that could happen. We keep forgetting that most of the greatest technological achievements of the human race have been from wack-o tinkerers, bicycle mechanics, and basement inventors outside of the established industries.....It should be a group of private citizen / investors who support this research.
