Old hunting light

We were going thru some boxes of things that we have had for years and years. One item that I have saved for a long time is my old carbide light that I used to * hunt and go frog gigging with.
I kept it in hopes that I would use it one day to train the kids in it's use while out hunting. I realize it's old tech but in it's day it would out last the best of lights.
I was wondering if the carbide fuel was still available for it. It seems too good yet to become a desk orniment.

I know carbide lamp fuel has been available in the past ten years. Let me look through some catalogs. I'll try and find you a link.

This place had it in the past several years, not in thier current catalog though. Was $8.64 for 3lbs in catalog #394. They may be able to tell you where to get some
    www.cumberlandgeneral.com

    Also try
    www.lehmans.com

neither place is cheap but they may be able to refer you if they can't supply it.

I just looked at the Lehmans site, they have it but in store sales only.

Here's another thought, Try your local welding supply houses. I beleive carbide and water generate acetylene.
