We went to the range today and Classic posted the results of the 1911A1... Strange way to spend a honeymoon huh?.. *LOL
I fired the 32 CZ first... didnt like the trigger pull on it.
Next came the Colt 38 Police Positive... nice piece.. but didnt care for the way it felt in my hand..

Finally the Colt 1911A1... oh God.. that is so nice.. I loved it...a bit heavy yes...bit of a recoil yes... but mannnnnnnnn that is a nice piece...
In my opinion... as naive as I am when it comes to guns.. the Colt 1911A1 has less recoil than the 32 CZ.. BUT...there is one thing I dont care for.. that thing bites back.. *LMAO*.. I mean its spits the shells out on my head..foot.. nose.. etc... but oh so worth the bit of pain...
Thanks guys for all your help..and advice..

I saw your target. It looked like you didn't have any problems with the Colt. Nice job.

The M1911A1 is one great handgun, as you discovered. And, again, welcome! I just wish more women would put aside the innate distrust of firearms & try it. As you discovered, it's fun! You didn't mention if you had a sister . . . .

Hey, congrats to the two of you. I didn't see the post in which it was announced, but my sincere best wishes. It sure sounds like you folks are off to a great start . . . and I still Classic should change his name to Lucky.

    BlackRoses,
I just picked a CZ Model 1927, in 7.65mm. Do you, or anyone have any idea what the value of it is. It is in excellent condition and is Nazi proofed, but missing the holster.
I have a rough idea, but would like someone elses opinions. Thanks.
You just got married? Congratulations. Wish my wife would take an interest in guns, that would give me a good excuse to buy more.

hey Bulleck...Thanks for the congrats... the CZ you were asking about..
Its marked as the same as the CZ 1924 but the cocking grooves on the slide are cut vertically instead of sloped.. Theses guns were marked
"Ceska Zbrojovka AS vPraze" remain in production from 1939 to 1945..occupation pistols are marked "Bohmische Waffenfabrik im Prag"
The Germans used the code "fnh" on these war time pistols.. After the war these pistols continued in production until 1951.. There were over 500,000 manufactured.. They range from poor at 165.. excellent 450.. Nazi proofed.. add 50%.. hope this helps..

Thanks for the second opinion, I wasn't that far off. Now to find out how desireable they are.

A gunsmith should be able to make that baby throw those shells in a different direction. Obviously Colt didn't intend them to throw shells back on the shooter. They wouldn't have sold very many that way.

My baby is a ported Star PD, as some of you know. I love it just as much though. Just picked up a black Dillon leather double mag holder to match the holster so I can carry 3 mags when carrying the gun. Beautiful double mag holder for only about 20 bucks on eBay (sorry). Then I got an Aker brown leather double mag holder that fits the mags for my PT145, so I can carry 3 of those at a time when needed. Also around $20. I love good guns, good leather, and extra mags.... and bargain prices. Guess what? SOG has CETME's on special for $299..... Hmmmmmmm....
