If you load the pan right there won't be a phoosh. Ignition will be almost instant. If you want a big phoosh just load the pan heavy and you will get all the phooshing you want.

sun came out it shoots but I have to clean well before every shot,is this normal? or is it because its a cheap gun.the flash hole didn't match the pan,but 2 minutes with a file fixed that.I think I made the right choise in starting with a cheap gun,I'll know what to look for in the next one. experiance is the best teacher.also the pyrodex fffg burns to an axel grease consistancy is this normal or is because of the %100 humidity and cold weather?also the flash hole is long 3/8' should I drilland plug with a anti funnel hole?

Jet -Don't know much about flinters, I'm a sidelock percussion cap shooter, but if you don't get many replies to your questions on this board, check out the Muzzleloader Forum at www.Huntamerica.com. Tons of info to be had there, with lots of experienced flintlock shooters to help a beginner.

Keep your flint and frisson free of all oils including body oils or you will loose your ignition spark!

Jet, Pyrodex isn't recomended for flint guns because of it's higher ignition temp. You should try regular black powder it's no more corrosive than Pyrodex and it ignites better. Also the secret is don't fill the pan up to the flash hole. If you get powder in there it acts like a wick and you get a hang fire. The flash hole should be an open passage for the flame of the priming powder to flow through. Follow this little tip and it will shoot as fast as a caplock.WOODS
