Bought a CZ 452 a few months ago. This is the old BRNO. I love it! Last time I was out I shot a 1" 50yd group with iron sights, out of 5 shots two made the same hole. Considering it was almost dusk, and our club range is in a valley, and my eyes are almost 40. I'll consider that pretty accurate. That was with the cheap Remington bulk 22 ammo. I can't wait to get a scope on it.Just remember the sights are graduated in meters not yards. If your looking at the .22's buy it, you won't regret it.

A buddy of mine has a BRNO as well. Never fired a more accurate .22.

well, the bren ten which was considered to be a most excellent pistol, was pretty much a cz, the eaa witness is a good piece, also made by cz, the ati sphinx was a cz product i believe and was considered to be about the finest 380 out there.

CZ did NOT make Sphinx or EAA Witness pistols. CZ & BRNO are separate companies. The newer CZ pistols will be wise choices for your money. I personally like the older guns because the quality was superb.

Czech: I was told that CZ=BRNO. I don't know for sure, just what I was told by a lot of people. Can you elaborate a bit to explain why so many people say this?

Czechmate: i stand corrected, perhaps i should have said the witness, bren and sphinx were copied from the cz...

Perhaps I should have said the BRNO #1 & The CZ 452 are the same gun. I have actually exchanged parts between my CZ 452 & a friends BRNO #1. This was done to check parts interchangability. I have another friend with a #1 that needed parts. We actually swaped bolt assembly's and fired them.(Of course we checked them with headspace gauges 1st)I have heard it both ways about the companies. Reading what the Blue Book says about them, leads me to believe they are separate companies like Chevrolet & Pontiac are separate companies.[This message has been edited by woodsrunner (edited 11-25-2001).]

CZ & BRNO have always been separate companies but during the communist times they were state run & the state let CZ manufacture BRNO guns using the BRNO trademark. That came to an end with the fall of communism. That's why you see some rifles with both Brno & CZ on them. I have one ZKK600 that was made by CZ toward the end of their production that doesn't say ZKK600. It says CZ 600 ZKK whereas my earlier CZ rifles say BRNO ZKK600. CZ did not make the ZKM611. It was made entirely by BRNO. Yes most parts interchange as do the scope mounts. If anyone has any further questions feel free to e-mail me & I'll try to help.
