Before I posted the other night, I knew what was wrong.
There was a short in the on/off switch. It cooked off and all those burning wires fell right onto the motherboard.
It was actuall a good thing. That computer was nearly 8 years old. It was like driving a model T. A local computer store sold me a brand new H-P that was a display model. Got a good deal.
Also no more AOL!!! HOORAY!! Everytime I had tried removing it and installing something else it wouldn't work. So, if anyone needs to get ahold of me I have a new email. Just used the private email incon and you'll get me. It's been updated. I'm trying out the service offered by Rifle magazine. It was highly recomended by my gun dealer.
I'll tell you this going from a 100mhz processor to a 1.4 Ghz it seems to fly at times.
