glad to have CCW even if not needed

Well, had to uncover the gvn from my shirt for the first time last night. Leaving a Steak House for my brother's b-day dinner. I was parked about 2 blocks away. I was carrying my 11 mth old in my left arm, as we got to the truck I saw some guy crossing in front of my truck so I quickly gave her to my wife and they got in the truck (also glad to have remote start and remote key). He kind of popped out from in front of the truck and had his hands behind his back while rambling to me in some jibberish about wanting money. He was acting like he was on something. Once he got a look at the 45 on my side and saw my wife dialing her phone he decided he didn't want to talk to me anymore. Don't know if I would have needed it but man was I glad it was there. Some might say I should have turned and hurried to get in the truck...but there is no way I was turning my back on a guy with both hands behind his back wearing a baggy shirt. Was the first time my wife was happy that I carry a gun.

Glad everythings OK. Good to hear that some idiot just seeing a gun changed his attitude. Bet he thinks twice about doing something like that again.

A similar thing happened to me. My wife and I were walking down a narrow sidewalk, I about 10 ft behind her. I think the thug didn't realize we were together. He grabbed her arm and said something like "Gimme a quarter". I kept my sidearm holstered, but with my hand on its grip I said, "I got a quarter ounce of lead with your name on it, if you touch my wife again". His eyes get really round, and he backpedaled. Successful DGU.

NRA life is the way to go, I called and asked that all the plea's for money not be mailed to me and it worked so I upgraded a few times.

Yeah, I'm doing the quarterly payments...think I have like $300 left to go. Couldn't drop the $700 at once either.

If I need to carry, I carry. No permit required!

Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6!

CCW's are revenue generators and means to "track" gunnuts!

    Kitty sez "F" the CCW's!

I just took the class and sent in the paper work for my CWP. I do carry in my glove box currently (this is legal in South Carolina without a permit) just to be on the safe side. I figure it will be about 2 months till my permit comes.

If you need to carry? What do you do sell drugs?

The point of ccw is to have it when you might need it if you already know your going to need it then no ccw isnt really right for you....

Do I sell drugs? Don't be a *. Have someone else read it then explain it to you and maybe my statement will become clearer.

Well I guess my personal protection beliefs are just a bit different than yours, personally I would rather have it on me and not need it than to not have it on me and need it.

From your post you make it sound like you only carry a gun if your going to need it and since no regular person is going to know when they are going to need it I assume your a criminal, and you seem to back that up by stating that you break the law by carrying without a permit.

Maybe someone else would read your post differently but personally thats what it comes off like to me.
