Wichita, Kansas-AP -- A Kansas fisherman believes he has reeled in a peeping tom.

The Wichita man was convinced someone was watching his daughters as they showered at night. A backyard chair kept getting moved under a bathroom window.

So he rigged a simple trap using clear fishing line. He tied fishing line to the chair, ran the line into the house and put the spool on a kitchen counter.

Last night, the unwinding spool fell.

The father grabbed a piece of pipe, went outside and found a man pulling the chair up to the window.

He ordered the intruder onto the ground while his wife called police.

The man turned out to be a neighbor, who claimed he was looking for a cat.

I'll give the father a lot of credit for his restraint. If I caught the guy he would have had to go the the hospital to have that pipe removed if you know what I mean....

Glad it was not you William. We would have missed you while you served 3-5 for assault!

Sure would have been funny if he looked in the window only to see two side by side 12 gauge barrels and a real angry pappy.

The itsy, bitsy spider crawled up the water...

I would have waited until he was perched on the chair before I let my presence be known.

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

The police get lots of peeping Tom calls. The trick is finding the peeper still there. Usually, he gets an indication that something is up and beats feet out of there.

I got to arrest one of those one night. He knew something was up, but he wasn't going to try to run.

The girls in the house used the upstairs bathroom and the shed roof over the back porch was right under that window. There was no need to heavily drape the window. It was on the second floor and there were no close neighbors. The only drapes were sheers that did not cover the whole window.

Young man shinnied up the porch column to the shed roof and sat their watching the girls bathe and get ready for bed.

The 17-year-old noticed the man watching her. She was cool. She went on with her business, then left the bathroom.

There were 3 girls in this house and the peeper had the routine figured out, so he did not leave at that point. He was waiting for Act II.

The star of Act I went downstairs and told Daddy. Daddy fetched his Remington 1100 out of the closet and went out the front door. Daddy slipped around quietly to the back of the house, and sure enough, there was our boy, patiently waiting out the intermission.

Daddy convinced the peeper that it would be in his best interest to remain right where he was, so that was where he still was when I arrived. He was a regular customer, and it was the first time ever he had actually been GLAD to see the police.
