I hate to rob a post so who is your favorite Western Movie Star. Present Day. I like Robert Duvall, Sam Elliot and Tom Selleck. Not nessessarily in that order. A movie with all three would be almost perfect.

    Tom Selleck, he's a good actor, he's one of our better (albiet quiet) second amendment supporter.

    Let's not forget Kurt Russel and Val Kilmer in Tombstone, Sam Elliot was in that one too. Oh wait!!! Billy Bob Thorton was in it too so does that qualify him as a western movie star? Then if I mention him, I can't not mention Dana Delaney[:p] (sure wish idsman would post a picture of HER instead of knight rider)

    other than the Tombstone group, I have to say Eastwood is probably my favorite, Robert Duvall is up there too!!

    I just watched open range which has robert duvall and kevin costner. I really enjoyed it. Make them the top of my list.

    What movies was tom selleck in?? Just wondering why he is the favorite of some here.

    Crossfire Trails

    That is only a few...just watch Monte Walsh on tv last weekend I believe...Not my fav kind of movie but watchable..

    The Best movie I sam John Wayne in was NOT a western, it was "The Quiet Man" where he played a retired boxer, gone home to Ireland![:)]

    Sam Elliot...!...Love his voice...Loved him as Buford in "Gettysburgh"...a great role, almost type-cast...
    Also love Sam Shepperd, definitely not the typical Hollywood 'pretty boys'...
