Why??? Why does the Prez have the power to pardon anyone? Is the person that holds the office any wiser than the judge or jury that sentenced the person?

Do away with the Presidential pardons!

The thread on freezing amnesty authority got me to wondering if they shouldn't try to freeze Obama's presidential pardon authority after he becomes a lame duck.

This power to pardon makes a joke of the law enforcement effort and judicial branch of government. Our tax dollars are spent to arrest prosecute and incarcerate criminals.

Presidential pardons en mass are unacceptable.

Dont do away with them but put some limitations on executive orders and pardons so they are used wisely.
