Are you talking about the K frame 38 Special revolver or the semi auto 5.56mm rifle?

I wish that S&W would stop recycling model names and numbers.

I had one of the early ones manufactured by Stag.

    A quality AR. Nothing special.

    I have a M&P15T.

Nice rifle, but a bit heavy.

I have the M&P15 Sport. Great rifle all around - at around $535 right now, best value out there in my opinion.

I have one of the "optics ready" versions of the S&W MP-15 and it shoots as well as the Colt, the Bushmaster or the other AR-15 that I've owned but can't remember the name brand of. I don't like the collapsible stocks as the tend to grab my moustache and that hurts like hell. I put a standard non-collapsible stock on it and love it even more.

I've shot one. They're very good rifles.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

Fired several of them. I consider them good rifles. Accuracy same as any other AR to include USGI.

A piece of tape over the hole in the top of the stock will prevent that. Common problem for those that sport * hair. [;)]

I have had a few and still have 3.
A MP15-22 (best 22LR AR as it is closest to AR function and disassembly)
A heavily modified on so not relevant
A TS which is their top of the line AR15 carbine and it is a very nice gun.

However, I have 3 PWS MK114s and the piston gun means I shoot it and do no cleaning and there is something very nice about an AR that does not need cleaning.
I know some claim they don't clean their DI AR after each use but that is like not wiping after taking a dump IMO

S&W make a decent basic AR and the TS is a fine weapon, light and accurate but what they get for a TS is what you can buy a Sig 516 piston and I would have to point you in the 516 direction from my experience (I have had 3 Sig pistons and they are flawless)

It is a great rifle, I love mine. I mean if I had one I would love it. But I don't have any guns, except the one I carry or the one I would carry.....Never mind!

M & P 15, good trigger, good accuracy, good price.
To my mind it is wholly irresponsible to go out into the world incapable of preventing violence, injury, crime, and death. How feeble is the mindset to accept defenselessness, how cheap, how cowardly, how pathetic. Ted Nugent.
