Burris Signature Series vs. Leupold VX II and III

I've been seriously considering the Burris Signature 3-10x40 and 3-12x44 scopes along with the Leupold VXII 3-10x40 for a new Tikka T3 lite 270 win. I was sold on the Burris after checking them both out at b-pro, until I came across an optics dealer website that had some pretty bad reviews on the Burris scopes... They said that roughly 1/2 of the 4x scopes they had sold had some issue or another. Is this just on the 4x's, or does it trickle to the 3x's also?

I'd really appreciate some feedback from those in the know...

If it is any help, I stopped buying Leupold and buy Burris Signature select. Superior scope, and thus far no problems. Burris warrenty is one word: Forever.

I have not bought one recently, but I'm a Leupold guy...go with the VX-III...Rock solid Life Time Warranty. I've seen Burris tell one guy that they would not repair his scope again. The reticle kept coming loose.

Hmmmmm... warranty is "lifetime", (even if you're not the original owner) but "we're not going to fix it anymore." ... I'm not downing Burris here, but this is one issue I'm trying to avoid! I've heard the same thing for Leupold also... guess it's a case by case thing...

...only if I have them installed... The Tikka T3 doesn't come with them.

Burris is the best of the bunch and if they can't warranty it they will replace it...
Wouldn't own a Leupold ever again.....

Sold most of my Leupolds and replaced them with Burris Signature series,..never regretted it.

I sent one back that I purchased with busted crosshairs for a great price. Burris changed the reticle, recharged the gas, replaced the turret covers and included a new bikini cover,...for free.

So far what ya'll are saying is basicly what I've come to understand about Burris optics... great gear and great customer service! That's what I wanted to hear... again[:D]

I love burris, they seem to be a little heavier than the leupolds though. Are they?

they are slightly heavier due to thicker main tubes.
