Know this belongs in the "Ask the Experts" section, but I agree with EvilATF; they smell funny! Basically, I am soon to come into posession of an LAR Grizzly in .50 BMG. I need a scope for it, with the correct ranging stadia, trajectrory corrected for the .50 BMG. I have heard bad things about Springfield Armory scopes, don't think they have one for .50 anyway. Any advice?

Springfield scopes-do a Search (if it works) and get informed if you don't want headaches.Recommend you look at at a quality 20X+ power range, if you are truly shooting LR, and want smallest groups.A scope with only 10X max magnification, and 40mm can leave you wanting for more. Especially at low light, or overcast days.If shooting at carsized objects, a Shepherd will do you well. I sell them (like the good Dr.), also shoot LR & 50BMG (Barrett82A1). Personally use only NightForce, and Burris. Swaroski also a good choice as they build Barretts scope with a 50BMG reticle. Leupold's just not sharp enough, and doesn't seem to consistently track. Only a Leupold that was reworked by Premier would be tolerated. MkIV's underpowered, overpriced. Don't waste your time & $$ with average optics, and mounting system.Feel free to e-mail me with ?'s; jabsao@msn.com.

Don't know about .50BMG calibration but have talked to some people who have been using the Nightforce on the 50's. They told me they performed great and held zero.
