Threads get poofed because a moderator, administrator or even the forum owner applied their judgement to a situation they saw on a thread.

It really is that simple.

Simple? I think the confusion comes when someone posts something that could in no way be construed as improper and it gets poofed.

You explained the reasonable poofings but not the ones that don't make any sense. And yes there has been examples of threads poofed that make no sense. True even if you think otherwise.

    That's why people keep asking.

Threads get poofed because a moderator, administrator or even the forum owner applied their judgement to a situation they saw on a thread.

The jury applied its judgement in the OJ Simpson trial and found him not-guilty of murdering his ex-wife and her lover.

It really is that simple, honest.

a simple explanation that explains nothing in reality.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

power is a funny thing[V] I sit here and shake my head at things that are locked or poofed.[xx(] I have the luxury of only having to poof posts with dangerous reloading info or spam. The things I see on the GD forum being poofed, are, well, questionable.

    Bingo, we have a winner.

I still think two or more votes is what it should take to poof a thread.

I once reloaded a can of spam to 360 psi. That was pretty dangerous.

Is this thread now in jeopardy?[;)][;)]

well sometimes its a poor judgement call, sometimes its a vendedata, but without quoting a "crazy statistic" number , i would wager a high percentage it was deserved, and the "author" darn well knew it, and knew it was pushing guideline rules so elegantly laid out for everyone to see

poof happens, if you get your panties in a bunch its your own fault, move on, reply to a different topic and get your post count back to where is was before the poof because thats all you really lost
