Is the recoil on a Remington 570 12 gauge as bad as an NEF single shot 12 gauge. Both completely stock, shooting the same shells.

I need some help from you 870 users. I was recently told that I needed to go to a gunsmith and have holes drilled in my 870 to mount a scope. Is this true, or are there scopes that fit without drilling? Thanks.

That 870 would not hit the broad side of a barn, scoped or not scoped. I would think there is probably a saddle mount bu BSQUARE, or Weaver, that would allow you to mount a scope without drilling. Ask BWANNA to show you his(his mount that is)

Not necessarily. I have one on my 870, I believe it's a b-square mount. You just have to remove the pins that hold in the trigger group, slide the mount over the receiver (holes will line up), and install the screws that come with the mount. Presto! However, this mount is not without it's downside. It's extremely painful after shooting about 5 or more slugs through it as the bottom of the mount slams into either your thumb or trigger finger. Can't remember which.

Salzo,Why don't you bring your PA behind to Mass and we'll go clay for clay. Hahaha.Or is the Ithaca still out of commission???

My advice is to buy a Hastings barrel with the cantilever scope mount on it. this way you can switch back to a plain bore barrel and hunt other types of game.

It would probably be better for you to come South to PA, because you wont get thrown in jail for having a gun in this state. If I go up to the peoples republic with a gun, I may never leave-incarceration usually does that.I did get the barrel for the Ithaca.

I would look at Natchezss.com and midsouth shooters supply as well as other wholesale places before I went to Cabela's. I know they have em in the master cat. but I also know that the wholesale places are always cheaper. I suggest the fully rifled version, I have shot the saboted slugs out of them and they are accurate. Be prepared for recoil though. Hope this helps.
