The boys went all the way to the Final Game

After last nights injury, the boys were visably different this morning. They started off poorly, but were able to rebound and come back from being down by 2 runs, to win the game. I pulled mine aside and told him that I understand that he was upset at seeing his team mate hurt like he was, be he wouldn't want the team to lose on account of him. Here they are after coming back for the win in their first game of the day.

That's mine right there

coach telling them how well they bounced back and never gave up, even when playing from a deficit

They played again, or were supposed to, at 4:15, but the other teams were still playing, so the boys had to have a 2hr practice waiting for the other game to finish, to determine who they would play. They won that game in pretty fair fashion. Took the lead in the first inning and never gave it up. That was actually their best effort of the weekend.

After that game, they litteraly had to go across the street to the lighted fields and play again. Our boys, although a travel/tournament team, were thrown together from several teams (A & B), and don't always play together. They did get worked over pretty hard in the final game, but finishing second in the 11U division for the entire weekend tournament, against a team that is STACKED, was an outstanding effort by these boys. All parents proud, myself included. Good things to come from these boys.

Most excellent. They faced some adversity, and played through it. At that age, it is all you can ask of them. And it looks like they had fun, which is all that matters.

    Baseball. The Greatest Game.

Sounds like they had a good time and may have even learned a lesson or two along the way.

    Good deal all around.

you are right. He seems to be settling in with these guys pretty well. He has another coach wanting him to try out after this year's commitment is fulfilled, but the decision of where he wants to play is all his.

The other coach was one of his little league coaches last year who really had a positive impact on his ability and attitude, so either way, I'm good with it. This has been a huge confidence builder for him, as well as a big learning experience.

makes me wish I had a time machine. Kids today have opportunities we could have only dreamed of when I was a kid playing little league baseball. Hell, they had just invented aluminum bats back then,...or was it fire[?] I can't remember....

EXCELLENT JOB MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am really impressed. They did a great job at rebounding when most would quit on themselves. A life lesson. Never quit or you will always quit. A lot to be proud of dad. [;)]John
