The enemy is reported to really HATE our snipers. [Not a caption].

They hate the IED disposal guys almost as much.

    Nighty Night dorkweed,....you lose!!

and if he is one of ours, he is either in a safe zone,..or his job is to stop a bullet aimed at a smart soldier.

also, judging by his size in the mil-dots, he isn't much more than maybe 300yds,..MAX prolly a little less. Hell, at that range I'd bet you 100 bucks I could make the top of his head fly up in the air a few feet, or that I could hit the grenade and make him disappear.[}:)] That's a simple shot.

OX, that scope is a Leupold Mark IV M3 (notice the squatty turrets). the Mark IV M1 has the full size knobs (taller). The M3 is also calibrated with cams for different calibers so as to go from a 100yd zero to 1000yds zero in 1 full revolution of the knobs. The mildots are standard military mil-dot size, and if made in the last 2 yrs, they are laser etched into the front lense instead of the brass type crosshairs that were used up till then.

When our men are sent to the "san box" with an inferior weapon (yes the AR) you never know what weapon they might pick up to use in place of it. Furthermore, when was the last time you saw a uniformed terrorist (looks like a uniform IMO)?

OX, I think a MK IV can pretty much be had for around the $1000 range, a few hundred less for used in perfect condition. I had 3 of the M1 versions, but sold them to make room for Nightforce NXS's. Take a look at the Nightforce NXS, twice the scope in every way except for price, then it's only 1 1/2 the scope[:D]

The original MK IV's were only available in 10x or 16x and utilized the much thicker tube for durability in the field. The newer MK IV's they advertise as 6-20 and 8.5-25 are using the thinner tubes and IMHO won't put up with as much of a beating as the straight 10X and 16X models will, they are tougher as they are still constructed to the original standard.

If you are in the mkt, look at
    Nightforce NXS
    IOR Valdada
    US Optics
    Schmidt and Bender

all better products IMHO, but there aren't any flies on a leupy tactical either[;)]
