whoever it was,..thanks. I finished it last night (2AM actually[:0]). The realities of what a succeful EMP attack on the US would do were quite overwhelming, and frankly, scary. I have a whole new understanding of what we take for granted, among other things.

It was a sobering read. A little look at what a real SHTF scenario may look like.

I really enjoyed the book, too. Not the best written but a new, original story and very thought provoking. My wife is even more of an EMP expert/SHTF scenario devotee than I am now. We read it on her Kindle.

Now she's all up about getting a sniper rifle, AR, food, fuel, extra ammo, etc. She wants to be the sniper!

    I love that woman! [:D]

Its much easier to laugh off as ludicrous the frightful thoughts of life than it is to try to figure out a way to prepare for them.

It is one reason I just bought a 1981 Mercedes diesel with a stick.

One of the few cars that will run following a EMP.

That book is set in the North Carolina mountains about 40 miles from where I live.
    I just ordered a copy.

I heard a lengthy interview on Coast to Coast a few months ago with an EMP expert, might have been this same guy.
    It is a scary subject.

Newt Gingrich claims his worst fear is an EMP attack. He wrote the intro to the book, I believe.

yes he did write the intro. He also states that much of congress has read it, and are actually starting some discussion.
