Here's what ya do. Put cursor in address window at top of browser and clear out any address therein. Highlight address in e-mail by dragging arrow across. Once address is highlighted, and ONLY the address check to be sure that cursor is blinking in top window. Use Control and C at the same time, then hit control V at the same time and the address should have coppied to the top window. Hit enter and you should go to your site. Or something like that.

Rosie,You'll probably need to "upgrade"--to a newer computer. If you're using Windows 3.1, you probably have very early versions of Outlook (your email program) and Explorer (your browser). I'm a lot more familiar with Mac's than PC's, but suspect the inability to just "click" to get to the links you want are the result of inabilities of the email and browser programs to "talk" to each other. The newer computers with newer programs have more features, which generally make them more "user friendly".If you're interested in an overall better computer experience (after some initial learning) try a Macintosh. Most Circuit City's will have an iMac set-up you can try.In Jan. you can get some good deals, as Apple brings out their new models, and the "older models" go on sale. Stay away from OS 10, (Apple's latest operating system) they still have to work the bugs out. Look over: www.powermax.com/cpus/new.html

22WRF, a "MacIntosh" is a computer they provide kids in school for practice before they graduate and can use a real one. It's sole advantage is that it doesn't use MacroCrap's OS. But it does come in pretty colors.

Try this Rosie; In IE you should be able to go under properties (right click on the icon on your desktop). There should be an advanced tab. Click on that and make sure that "underline links always" box is checked. If it is then you will have to paste and copy any links not in blue into your address bar.P.S. It's probably about time to upgrade to IE6

IconoclastNow I remember that's one of those "machines" that you can't find any software written for the OS.You have to buy software for it to fool it into thinking it's a PC.

I'm pretty certain that Win 3.1 won't run Internet Explorer 6. It may be time to consider an upgrade. There are a lot of good deals out there on PC's. Being that you are using Win 3.1, you are going to have learn a new OS no matter which platform you choose. I personally would not get a Mac as my only machine. There's more resources for the PC than the Mac. I have and use both (as well as Linux); If I could only have one OS, that everyone in my house could use, for every type of application, it would be Windows 2000. I perfer Windows 2000, but Windows XP's redesigned interface might be better/easier for you. Check out prices at Dell for factory refurbished machines. They have Dimension 4300's with P4 processors ranging between $525-$900. Good luck!

Want to thank you guys for trying to help but nothing seems to work. I woudn't mind buying another computer except this one has been totally reliable. Had it since 94 and never a glitch except when lightning got into it. All i had to do then was reload windows. It has survived two teenagers and myself. Paid $2.800.00 for it back then and it was on sell! Rosie

RosieI know feeling of paying big buck a number of years ago for a computer. I bought a IBM PS\2about the same time you bought yours. I dug it a and the printer Epson T-1000 out this summer and sold it all for $25. It was that or the trash can. It is a fact if you buy a new computer today it will be out of date and need an upgrade before you get the box open.Find you a good use one with at least a 233 CPU MMX CPU, 64 MB of RAM, 5 MB Hard Drive.4X CD-ROM. Win 95 or 98. This is the Minimum to run the net today. It will be slow but much faster than what you have.Win 98 is so easy to set up. People today who have never run DOS or/and 3.1 have no Idea how tough those commands were to get right. We looked at lots of blue screens of death.
