Blackpowder Rifle Kits

I'm thinking that I'd like to get a blackpowder kit and build my own Hawken .50 cal flintlock. Are there any kits that are better than others? Are the Cabela's kits any good? It looks like CVA also has a kit. I also looked at Traditions, but it appears their kits are precussion only. Thanks.

If you take your time you will enjoy building a gun from a kit. I have built several pistols and a couple rifles. I presently have 3 pistol kits and an inline rifle kit that I am going to work on next winter. I also have a pistol and a rifle that someone started building but got tired of the wood work. I am going to work on these when I have time. Most of my kits are CVA.

If you don't care where you are going, you can't get lost.
