Sold an old Winchester pump in 22WRF this weekend, was wondering what that cartridge is and can a rifle cambered for that shoot anything else?

Was designed for the older model Winchester 1890.
The .22 WRF is very similar in size to the .22 Magnum, but with velocities in the 1400 fps range.
This the same cartridge is the 22 Remington Special
Value would go to 0 if Rechambered (Rebarreled)
The .22 WRF and .22 Magnum cartridges are NOT interchangeable
The .22 WRF (Winchester Rimfire)is still being produced n limited amounts.

you cannot and should never attempt to fire a .22 WIN MAG in a rifle chambered in .22 WRF.
