Still here but Houston Texas is a disaster flood zone now if the Low moves over to closer to New Orleans with the wet side dumping 20 inches of water there then look for Fuel to spike everywhere. 3.00 a gallon at the least this week. Maybe more.

I was raised in La Porte, which is on Galveston Bay, and lived in Pasadena a few years. A heavy dew would flood Pasadena so they are undoubtedly flooded out...Hobby Airport is flooded and shut down.

My daughter and her family live in Clear Creek and I have three grandkids and six great Grandkids there. My daughter flew up here to Dallas for a visit last Sunday and can't get back...that is the only good news.

My Niece lives in Webster and she has two inches if water in her home...my Grandkids told me that they are okay at the moment but the water is half way up their driveways...not good with the storm hovering and dumping more water...I am a wee bit concerned to say the least.

Keep the folks down on the Gulf in your prayers...they need them.

This Storm has made Houston Texas a unlivable city now and The politicians know that it is just going to get worst because of their leadership that has contributed to it's downfall!

Two million more people have came here after Ike but that is to change very soon but unfortunately the illegals will stay as long as they can get free food medical & housing,we have become a third world city just like New Orleans now.

The USA is beginning to fall from within in my opinion it's not going to get any better. Especially Houston Texas and the surrounding Area.

Design rainfall rate 8-1/2" per hour and 10 year return 24 hours is 25". Problem is prevailing SE winds pack water in Galveston Bay and it prevents Houston storm drainage from draining the rainfall into Gulf of Mexico. Brazos River on West and Trinity River on N and East of Houston drain much of SE Texas. BTW: The last "stump floater" (27" in 24 hrs 2004) resulted in Tractor Trailers floating loose on I-10 North of Downtown. The one before that (1979) resulted in the little town of Alvin between Houston and Galveston recording 43+ inches 24 hrs. The most recorded rainfall in lower 48 states ever.

Overbuilding with concrete on a low area without proper drainage is the problem and ain't nothing going to fix it but when the public wakes up and know they have been sold out to The people who profit off
dummies with their politicians in tow with lobbyist they provide to represent you. Wake Up!

Buyer-beware and like a lawyer that told me once "don't put your cart in the front of the horse"! Now that's good horse sense but they ain't going to tell you until after they have scammed you and made their money off you, silly man!

No recourse for recovery of your hard earned money they took from you!The more things change, the more they stay the same![;)]

Just off the phone with my sister near Katy. We were both surprised she had power, TV, and most importantly, cell phone! No one around them does.
My niece, husband, and baby made it out to Dallas. My nephew, wife, and two boys are trapped in their house. No water inside yet. Niece's husband has one of his company helicopters on standby to get them out. My BIL is out with the boat rescuing friends and employees from their shooting range.
They barely recovered from the last "100 year flood" at their range. This time they put all the golf carts, clay throwers, and tractors up on top of the range berms. Army Corp of Engineers called this morning to tell them the water will be 5ft higher this time.
The flooding is bad, and is only going to get worse. The real danger is the mass of tornadoes that form out of nowhere. Before she hung up, my sister said the clouds were blowing in a circular motion, real fast.
I asked her to text me updates every 6 hrs, if she could.

My niece left Houston Thursday. Her last day working at the Marriott was supposed to be Friday, they put alot of pressure on her to stay the week end. She packed her stuff and drove to Dallas. She flew out Thursday. She's safe in Knoxville now.

This is a going to be an EPIC disaster. Predicted to be upwards of $40 billion in property damage. The death toll now at 5 will rise quickly, and the lawless violence will start as soon as the rain stops. The calm true storm. [V]

Had a guy on Fox that had a concrete house across the street from a trailer park. He told the reporter he saw a couple grab their 4 kids and run inside a moment before a twister made a direct hit on the trailer, and it disappeared. A minute later another one came through taking out two more that were occupied. Unfortunately, I think that death toll is going to get a lot higher.

Sitting here Galleria part of Houston. Lots of rain for sure. Under tornado warning. Not real worried. I'm in a good place 3 floors up a cement reinforced building.

Sister is in Humble. Northeast side of Houston. They been getting hammered but not flooding. My girlfriends friends live in Katy. They had a close call with a tornado but still high and dry. The world isn't ending.
