Hurricane party

Settling in for a hurricane party.
The pressure is starting to drop quickly, the wind is picking up now, but not much rain so far. That will come later I'm sure, and the winds will only get stronger too. Got the generator set to go, but need to get my hands on a few more 100' lengths of extension cord. Now that we put the addition onto the back of the house I can not reach the fencer behind the barn & my freezers too...[:)]
Were probably better off then some folks though. With two wells, two wood burning stoves, and 30 cord of wood split & stacked we won't get cold or be thirsty no matter how long the power is out.
I told Claudia to go get her Mother & bring her here. If the power goes out where she is there may be no way to get to her after the trees & power lines are down.

Keep us informed, if you can.
I know y'all aren't used to these occurrences.
U WILL have a LOT of downed timber!
Best to gather any loved ones to you.Sounds like you're in pretty good shape to weather this thing out.
Best advice ,after being prepared, which it looks like U are, is to not panic...
It will be one of the scariest events many of you have ever endured.
Also.DO NOT GO OUTSIDE WHILE THE "EYE"IS OVER YOU!!
I grew up near Galveston Texas, this storm an't getting no Hurricane virgin.[8D]
I cringe when I hear folks up here scoff at the effects of a storm this size.[:(]
The winds are starting to really whip up storm out side. Maybe if we are lucky I won't have to rake leaves this fall.[:D]
We cooked some real nice tortilla soup on our new wood cook stove for dinner this evening. Even if we lose power that stove will heat 2000 square feet, and cook to boot.[^]
