    Many times in these type of videos, the police look like idiots.

    This time, I can't believe the amount of crap they took from the guy. Apparently there is not gun free zone around schools like there is here.

    I presume from the title that the idiot was carrying a firearm openly, though I couldn't see it. He walked up to the front door of a public school and tried to enter. Oh my!

    I participate in the WATCH D.O.G.S. program at a local elementary school. I am one of three peace officers who participate in the voluntary program, and we are armed all the time.

    Now, if this idiot approached the front door of the school, openly armed, the school would go on lockdown. If he managed to get inside before the door was locked, and if he encountered one of the peace officers who volunteer at the school, he would have a very limited window of time to comply with commands. There would not be a protracted conversation, no arguments, and no questions. Put it down now, move away from it, and then get down on your belly.

    Or, he might just be shot.

    Idiot, and I see the video is being used by the anti-gun people. I can't help but wonder whether that was the idiot's intent.

    They were (apparently) speaking with him in front of a school and tell him where to go in order to speak with a supervisor.

    The next thing we see is him standing at a door that won't open and saying how clever they are. The Tahoe driving cop tells him the Sergeant is in the Crown Vic and the guy then talks to him - or more accurately he talks AT him.

    At least I think that's what we're seeing. His video is about as organized as his thought processes. [:D]

    I am all about open carry and I'm a big fan of it as I think it's our God given right....but for crying out loud don't be *'n stupid....and then when two cops show up who are pretty cool about the whole thing don't be a jerk to them.

    This is what I don't get. This guy was obviously out to abuse the police into something for youtube. Why do they oblige him by continuing the dialogue? Ignore the fool and watch for real mischief down the street somewhere else. They determined he wasn't breaking a law so then just leave.

    Open carry, conceal, or don't carry, I don't care.

    He was carrying legally, even at a school (Michigan law does not prohibit OC on school property, and preempts school districts' ability to ban firearms).


    Just don't be a d-bag while you're doing it.

    Calmly explain "I'm not committing a crime. You don't have a duty to investigate suspicion of legal activity. have a nice day." or whatever.

    If you look close at his reflection in the glass doors as he walks up the steps you can see he has a rifle draped over his back.

    Call me suspicious, but I call BS on this one.
