    Junk. Way over priced. An old lady I know bought one and paid almost $5000 bucks for it. Less than two years the motor went south and she had it replaced. Carb went bad so I worked on it last summer for her. Found the steering so loose you couldn't run a straight line and a lot of other little things. She had a little less than an acre to mow.

    Does Simplicity still make thier own mowers still? The last one I had was a 1967 2110. Got it used in 2001 and was still running when I traded it for Massey Ferguson mower in 2005.

    If you bought a Massey Fergunson lawn/garden tractor. You just bought another Simplicity.
    ==========

    Simplicity still builds their own brand of mowers. But they are not what they use to be nor worth 1/2 of what they are asking for them.

    I bought a B&S twin cylinder 20hp Regeant model last year and so far I love it! I asked on here for opinions about mowers and like anything else some good and some bad reviews. I called 2 shops in 2 different towns near me that did not sale mowers and asked them what mowers did they least work on. With out hesitating both shops said Simplicity. So that is what I bought. Not telling you to buy one, but it sold me on them.

    I have a 1973 model I still use.

    They don't make them like they used to. Doubt that today's machine would last as long as this has.

    like almost everyone, they make a light duty stamped frame model that you should stay away from, the heavier duty model will last you much longer, but will also cost more. This is the only brand mower I have ever owned, a 67 model used till 73, 73 model used till 99 them bought 92 model still using. Both the 67 and 73 models are still running.

    I have a 1984 model that my granddad bought new....great machine!!!

    I talked to a salesman about a trade in....he took me aside and told me that I was better off rebuilding (if it ever needs it) it over trading it for a new one!!

    Guess that tells me how good the new ones are!

    The head man in charge of Simplicity told Walmart to go to hell back in 2006. Good reading about a man who put his company and his employees above huge profits.

    Last I checked Simplicity is not green, therefore...I'd stick with the green mowers.

    The high dollar Simplicity mowers I have seen are as good as any. The Briggs engines last and the Hydro Trans that have the filter and dip stick last. The cheap ones might just as well get a Yardman or Murray.
    I just bought a Deere GX325 with the Kawasaki engine and the heavy duty Hydro(filter and dipstick). The mower new listed for well over $6000 and I got it for a song with just 306 hours on it.

    Buying a mower the most important thing is the transmission. If the motor goes it can possibly be replaced, if the trans goes it is junk. If the transmission doesn't at least have a dipstick and drain plug then it is a throw away transmission and the best transmissions have a filter on them also. The Briggs engines from my experience HP to HP of other engines might not be equal to power, but if maintained will last.

    Can't speak for the newer ones, but back in 86 I bought new push mower, and it is still running. Starts on the first pull ever time. Frame craked once, but I welded it back together.
