Gunshow was a major bust

Despite the fact that the convention center was filled to capacity with people, (and it was about 150-degrees in there) I still couldnt sell my SKS.I dont know if it's because I'm pricing it too high. But there was nothing else worth a damn at all the other tables anyway. 3/4ths rusty muskets and WWII bringbacks, 1/4ths equally ancient lever-actions and shotguns.I did not see one modern rifle the entire time I was there. No FALs, no AR-15s, not even any other SKSs. It was scarey.

Same here. Every gun show I've been to since 9/11 has nothing but junk and even that is overpriced. Maybe the Charlotte show will have something in March.

Where are these shows you guys went to? There's one coming up next weekend in Arizona. I've always seen more rifles than handunds at shows around here. I'll give you an update on it when it comes around.

Bullzeye, list the gun here. You will do better than you can imagine.I used to attend gun shows regularly. I was a vendor, on the inside of the tables, so I had something of an advantage over the guys walking the aisles. Then, I started selling a few guns here on Gunbroker. I don't have to pack them up, haul them to the show, unload and display them, listen to people knock my stuff all weekend, then pack it all up and bring it back again. Here, there is no dickering, either. They either bid or not, and the price keeps getting bigger not smaller.

Where was the show, Bullzeye, if you don't mind my asking? I was at one in Saratoga, NY, last November -- my first ever. They had a few things that interested me, but nothing interested me enough to buy other than a few low-priced odds and ends. Even then, I bought most of the things because I half wanted them and half felt sorry for the people who had wasted the effort to set up there. These shows must not be what they used to be; I couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about. I did get a Marlin cable lock to go with my Marlin rifle, though, so it wasn't a complete loss.

This was the biggest annual one around here, Gordian. The one at the Empire State Plaza run by the NYS Gun Owners Association.I sure as heck hope those gun owners dont carry concealed what they were selling at this show. You point a rusty 1896 Webley-Foster .38 at a guy and he's liable to laugh at you.My SKS seriously looked like the newest gun at the entire show. I didnt see one single modern firearm, that includes shotguns, rifles and pistols.

Thanks, Bullzeye, that's what I thought. I didn't go because I had other things to do, now I'm glad I didn't. Sounds like the one in Philly was a bust also.
