What would they think?

I just got to wondering... what would all those fervent Nazis (and not so fervent slave workers) have thought if they knew that their Lugers, Mausers, etc., would one day be used by American hunters and target shooters? Would they be proud that their product survived so long, or mad that the Americans got their hands on them?
"...hit your enemy in the belly, and kick him when he is down, and boil his prisoners in oil- if you take any- and torture his women and children. Then people will keep clear of you..." -Admiral of the Fleet Lord Fisher, speaking at the Hague Peace Conference in 1899.

When the Walther factory was "liberated" near the end of the war, a lot of pistols came home with soldiers. Also Eisenhower sent two trucks and loaded nickel plated pearl handled PPK's by the case. He gave them to supporters when he ran for prez. Gotta wonder what the slave laborers would have thought of that also.

Anybody see the episode of Band of Brothers where the American soldier was bound and determined to get himself a Luger as a souvenir? I think the Nazi's were happy with that one.
