Give Dan at AK-47 World a call 303-341-0847 or e-mail him at sales@AK47world.com. He is a very interesting guy to talk to and seems very knowlegeable about the AK-type rifles he has convinced me that for the money the MAK-90 Norinco is the way to go and he has them all,Norinco, the Russian, with the stamped steel receiver. and the Bulgarian with the milled steel rec. however I did not get into the accuracy issue with him.about the 3 above mentioned rifles shame on me. please post what you find out. You should be able to buy the MAK-90 from him for between 400 & 450 bucks and the Junk Romanian AK's are selling for about 350.00 He said if you want a more accurate AK Type Rifle the AR-180 Armalite is the way to go. but they are up there in price (2) are on the Auction starting at 750.00 and one at 1100.00. I too would be interested in the quality of the MAK 90 v. the Romanian, the Bulgarian and the brand new Russian snub nose AK's just coming into this country.

Just give Dan a call, He just sent me an e-mail that the new Russians will be pretty high dollar. around 850.00 bucks. The Chinese "NORINCO" has a heaver receiver than the Russian + a vented gas tube which allows it to cool better and function better plus a better piston rod.It also has a heavier receiver than the Russians that he currently has in Stock. But either rec. woluld outlast the barrell in either gun. Dan said one of the drawbacks to the Chinese rifle is the Chu Wood stock and it is easily dinged up but you can remedy that problem by going to www.Globaltraders.com and buying a plastic stock. I think the way to tell the Chinese from the other rifles from a distance is they have a lighter color to the stock. Dan told me that the Chinese AK is standard issue to the U.S. Navy Seals, if its good enough for those bad boys then I think I can get on just fine also. Just give Dan a call and he will enlighten you about all of the rifles, I sujest that you have a pen and paper handy to take some notes. I am by means no expert on these guns and most of what I have learned about them in the last few days I have learned from Dan. He is at the Colorado Gun Show this weekend but you can probably reach him Monday. Well I have to get going to go to our local Gun Show. Good Luck! I am going to go for the Norinco and maybe pick up a Bulgarian from him later.Oh by the way the AK he has in stock right now from China are the Thumbhole Stock.[This message has been edited by Otoman (edited 11-24-2001).]
