When I bought the safe I told the wife it was going to be used for her jewelry, old family photos, inportant paper work, and some guns.Well as it turns out, no papper or jewelry, just guns.

I'm an old guy and I grew up with-Yes "John Denver"- so I have the original records he made as well as the news of his death-(newspapers, Mags. ect.) My Daughters birthday is 10-12-89--- John Denver Died- 10-12-97. He was my mentor in music. I also have stuff I want my kids to have when I go to the lone prarie. If you buy a safe- get one twice the size you need. I'm also a rock fan and have the old Elvis Presley 45's and such in the safe. As well as 20 or more- "Monkeys", Raiders, 3 dog night, old stories for kids- and lots more. I have stuff you wouldn't beleive! Got a lot from the family past. We still play the old Magnivox high fidelity turntable.(record player). A safe is more than for guns when you have a wife!

I don't have a safe yet, just one of those steel cabinets. But, it is used exclusively for guns, mags and scopes. Incase my wife decides to read this post I can also tell you that I would never put mad cash in there.G36

Guns, knives and other secret stuff. All right, Daddo. I'm a huge John Denver fan myself. Cried real tears when he died. I never pick up my guitar without playing some of John's songs.

Mrs Rembrandt keeps the kids baby books, car titles, passports, birth certificates, tax documents, photo negatives,...takes up about 20% of the room.....remaining space is for toys...

Let's see, if you used it mainly for financial records could you write it offfor tax purposes?

The answer is yes, if you store your tax records in it, the safe is tax deductible....but you may not be able to write it off in one year....I had to depreciate mine over 5 years.

Offhand? 71/84 Mauser, 98k Mauser, 1891 Arg. Mauser, .22 Romanian, PA63, FN Browning 1922, M44 Mosin Nagant, and an M95 Mannlicher OM2 Carbine. All the real important stuff is in the safety deposit box at the bank.

I agree with zonk, Safes are for guns. Safe Deposit Boxes are for Coins, Records, Certificates, etc. Auto
