Buying AK-47's

Is it just me, or has the price of AK's just skyrocketed? A few months ago SAR-1's cost about $279, and now the chepest I've seen (with double-stack mags) is running about $350. I already have one, but if they keep going up, maybe I should get another....

But if we all decide $350 is too much and refuse to buy, maybe the price will come down in 6 months. Otherwise, doesn't it become sort of like a self-fulfilling prophecy. We're afraid that if we don't buy now the price will go up, so we do, and therefore demand drives the the price up.

I have a norinco on order and paid 425.00 for it and felt it was a good deal. there are very few left for sale in this country at any dealers and the Chinese are no longer going to make anything but fully automatics. I think the price will keep going up. But I may be wrong.
