To put the issue to bed

BullzeyeBullzeye Member Posts: 3,560
edited January 2002 in General Discussion
I arranged for the issue to be put to bed. The site is either gone or has been changed to an address which I nor my parents are privy to. I apologize for the embarrasment which I have wroth through my association (albeit indirect) with the page.(addendum: I do not know whether I specified this, but I did not author the page or select it's content. I acted as a shill for my brother in an attempt to bring in traffic and then didn't bother to check to see exactly WHAT he put up there)Geocities.com is now on the blocked websites list. No more webpages for me or my brother. If anything, I suppose it is a timely lesson in guilt by association. By endorsing the page and neglecting to police its content, I, in effect, authored the page as much as he. The shame is left to me, regardless of my intentions. My time on this board may be numbered, now. In admitting my part in this fiasco to my father, I've put myself on thin ice, and I may (or may not) be able to continue posting here. We will have to see. He thinks you all may be good influences on me.If my penance is loss of your respect, then I take it as you see fit to administer it. He who wrongs his neighbor must accept his punishment as his neighbor sees fit.[This message has been edited by Bullzeye (edited 01-02-2002).]

To Bullzeye's Dad,I think Bullzeye shows a great deal of maturity in the way he handled the aftermath of this incident. Please, don't ban him permanently from the forums here. I have gained much knowledge here as well as strengthened my personal values by participating here.I think the disappointment that 'Clouder expressed would be enough punishment to make me take a long hard look at myself.Bullzeye is young, and is spreading his wings same as every person does at his age. I'm not trying to tell you how to raise your son, but I can tell you what would be some good punishments for me at that age (and now for that matter).Sitting out a section of hunting season.Missing a few trips to the range. No Rose Bowl.A lot of yard/house work.Dad's leather belt on my behind. And my all time, most hated - kopeying sekshus owt of da' dikshunairy.

Bullzeye,The absence of the homepage on your Bio looks completely normal. Should anyone view your Bio. and read your comments which you post, I am sure that they will be content. I believe the decision to edit your Bio. was appropriate.

You're allright in my book Bullzeye. Anyone can make a mistake. Heck if I had gotten caught for all the things I did as a kid I'd still be in jail!Take your licks and ask your Dad to read this thread. We need more young men like you in America.

We've all made mistakes. That is part of the process of becoming a man. I'm sure years from now you will still recall this incident with embarasment, That is the real punishment. You have handled this in an honorable manner. I hope your dad lets you stay.WOODS

Due to your kind words, my father has decided I can stay. He seems to agree with you that I am intelligent (sometimes too much for my own good) and mature (for the most part), but I need to have my momentary abberations squelched in the proper manner. As he said, if I dont punish you for your temporary mistakes, they'll eventually become permanent mistakes that I wont be able to do anything about. So I'll have my Internet use further restricted to one half-hour a day (it is currently 1 hr a day), all of which will be during times when either himself or my mother will supervise me.As for my brother's punishment, I've not been told (and I suspect I never will) what his particular penance is.Although, unlike myself, "he still isnt too old to get a lickin".

I've been taught not to be unkind to people older than myself, so I'll try to do this with as much respect as I can muster. Mr. Whiteclouder, If you have some sort of a problem with me, I would ask you please to say it to my face instead of beating round the bush with snide comments and allusions.I've come straight. I realized I made a mistake and have accepted the consequences from both my father and my friends on this board.I've admitted I was wrong. I've made amends in every way I can think of.I like to think that the wise ones on this board have at least partially accepted my apology and are on the road to thinking I am an okay person again.I like to think all that needs to be said, HAS been said, and the waters are clear. Fresh slate. So, if you can find it within yourself, would you please either find something nice to say, or just say nothing at all?I'd be lying to say that the entire ordeal hasnt left me tired and depressed. As it should. But I'd really, really appreciate it if you wouldnt pile on to my troubles just as I'm starting to repair the break I've caused.

I'm not so bright, so I gotta ask, is Dread trying to tell us that he is gay? I thought someone said once that denial is practically a confession, especially when not asked. Dread, ever hear of 'Dont ask, Dont tell', try it. I think I might be wrong, but did he also say, he LIKES Bullzeye? HHHMMMM????

Bullzeye:Don't let the rude one's get you down. Some people are just too high and mighty for their own good. Help me understand! Why is it we are to believe Bullzeye is a young man? or a man at all? (no offense intended) We submit to this board what we choose to. PERIOD. I cautioned against coming to unjust conclusions, waiting for one "Bullzeye" to clear things up. We now have what he has chosen to submit as the way it is. So be it! NOBODY here can prove it to be otherwise. I will choose to read his posting as that, words from someone, somewhere. I'll agree or disagree with his opinion, offering suggestions or smart off based on that alone. I must admit though, this is the first time I know of that a poster has introduced their Father in this manner to substantiate their claims. That is worth thinking about.

Bullzeye, I just wanted to let you know something, I feel is rather important. It seems that a certain someone is rather 'taken with you'. I think that Dread has maybe taken the topic subject'Putting the issue to bed', just a little too far. Dread IS an alien, and I think that where he is from, its ok to LIKE whomever. Now I may be wrong, but, really, I think hes, a little strange, I know for a fact hes an alien, but I still am not quite sure about the 'I'M NOT GAY' statement he made.

The problem is as modern freudian postulatesthat all men have an inner "gay" ,the hidden "femenine side" ,after deep meditation i do discovered that inner GAY within me , but to my surprize it resulted to be a lesbian ....Too bad you cannot catch a linguistic knot inwithin a line. you are too predictable...anyway HE HE HE HA HA HA !

I'm not sure, but I think Dread just said 'he' is actually a woman. The truth is out, the name is Mrs.Dread. I should have known, is no marriage sacred? Bullzeye, was too much for you huh Dread, you couldnt stand the thought of living with one man all your life, and now have decided to 'take another man', shame on you Dread. You're a disgrace to the judicial system, ah well, no big surprise there huh? Who'd have thunkt it, a FEMALE alien.

Your lack of intelligent humor amazes me even the reaction as wolf-pac theoretics falls in line as the significance of the true written word is distorted to defend a non logical secuence to the original line..thesupermonkey statement:If Bullzeye will lay off Dread he's got my vote...So I cracked the Joke: (I AM NOT GAY ) Next response (reread) was not even properlyunderstood ... maybe you are "Homophobic" thats an interesting tread to post .....or simply havent read Freud.

Sure Dread, Freud, oh yeah BABY, hes on my read list, gimme a break. Any one who had read Freud either has a doctorate, or has more time on his/her hands than anyone needs. If anyone has that much time on their hands they need to get a job. Dread, ever hear of Jack London? HHHMMMM??? Is someone in the wrong place? Call of the Wild.... White Fang... any of the two ring a bell??? Have you ever read anything by Louis L'?

hey bullseye- there is something here that you would do well to learn- namely that you have a lot to learn(as do us all) before you wrap yourself in the robes of rightousness. claiming to be a big time republican(or for that matter, democrat) know-it-all is better left to the guys who know it all. listen and keep your head down- soon enough you'll be telling us all how it should be from D.C...the reason you were taken to task is because your words and deeds didn't match. no problem from me, as far as this board goes, but if you want to be a torch-bearer you'd better keep the deeds more dignified if you want the respect a man deserves at your age...or not- raise hell and whoop it up, just don't do it on a high horse!

THIS IS A TEST OF THE EMERGENCY HOMOSEXUAL SYSTEM BTW, as a young guy, this is a good lesson. There are some people who can't GET OVER IT if you screw up. The main thing to remember is that you did the right thing, and corrected the problem. Sure you get to live with the consiquense (sp Im tired), but you will always have harpys nagging you about what you did. They are always there, sometimes they are the boss, mostly they are just a pain.

What is the deal with all of the homophobes on this site? Granted that is not a lifestyle I would choose to lead, but it doesn't give anyone the right to bash them. Could it be that some of our posters are homophobes because they are not secure about their own sexuality. Dread, reading your posts is like entering the twilight zone, completely disorienting, but entertaining none the less. As for homosexuals, as long as they support my rights (including the 2nd), I'm for them. They are exercising their right to live as they would like, and you've got to admit that it must be difficult openly living a gay lifestyle with all of the social stigmas and ridicule that must come with it. Just a few onions from the monkey...[This message has been edited by thesupermonkey (edited 01-03-2002).]

Bullzeye,It sounds to me like you got yourself in quite a pickle. I was a lot like you are when I was your age (not that long ago). My time in college, then in DC, (and now it seems everyday) has taught me some things. I think that this experience should make you realize that any small improprieties can destroy your credibility. Something as minor as not monitoring a website with your name on it made quite a fuss on this board. For what it is worth, the best advice I have ever received was given to me by the 85 year old matriarch of my family, on my way to Washington, so I'll pass it along to you, especially if you want to make it in politics. "--Keep your eyes and ears wide open and your mouth shut." Enough said. Glad you're back.
