Question about guns on college campuses

Kansas is fighting to keep guns off college and community college campuses in Kansas.
Here's my question....
Guns aren't allowed but someone comes on campus with a gun and starts shooting.
Then there is a person that has a conceal to carry and has brought their gun when it's not legal and shoots the shooter.
What happens to the conceal to carry person IF they shot the shooter and saves lives??

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for you opinions

In those types of cases, the good guy is often found guilty of and charged with illegal possession.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

    It can get worse.

Maryland's legislature is again considering a bill that not only outlaws possession on any college campus, but on any property owned by a college. So, driving through an apartment complex that only a lawyer knows is college owned could get you 3 years in prison. CCW's & off duty LEO's are also subject to imprisonment if convicted.

They are like rust: they never stop.

Some of those Ambulance chasers need to roll a case against an establishment that prohibits carry. If a place loses a multi million dollar law suit for failure to protect after taking away the right of self protection they may reconsider it is after all about the money.

As far as carrying illegally and ending a bad scene the people you save MAY appreciate it. You will probably be charged and sued.

    Depending on where you live.
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

Need to follow the example of Liberty University. Not only "allowed," to carry on Campus, but actively encouraged to do so.

What happens? He and others get to live another day. The law at that point would just be a bother.

I was just talking to a rabid old lady ex teacher and she wouldn't even listen to my opinion so I told her that I believed in no guns on campus. She was thrilled until I told her then they could then beat the bad guys to death with books.

Idaho recently changed it's concealed carry was allowed on campus, much to the dislike of each and every college president. They wailed about how much violence would come onto the colleges. The wailed about how much is would cost to increase security.

Naaaah. Several years and nothing has happened.

You should have seen the snowflakes cry and whine about that one.

As the old saying goes goes...better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6. I honestly think it would depend on where it happened. Here in Oklahoma they would likely get a community service that would consist of riding in a local parade while they are being hailed as a hero....in new York city? You would go to jail and be hated worse than the would be mass murderer I suppose.

In NY and NJ the atmosphere would be automatic lawsuits. The climate may change. However, media and social media in these areas are so far left of center. Even with crazy shootings like the NY rail car nut from years ago. Where if only someone in that railcar had a gun so many would not have been senselessly shot down.

Kansas may have a chance. If the NRA ILA gets in there and helps the cause they may win.

The hero would probably be charged, expelled, and lose his gun rights forever. Then be pardoned by Trump.

The President can only pardon those who have been convicted of a Federal crime. All others are subject to the whims of the governor of the state in which the conviction occurred.

Hoping the NRA/ILA, GOA, SAF, or any other National Organization will step in & solve the problem is truly wishful thinking.
If there are not enough plain Ol' citizens raising hell with the (ongoing) legislative conspirators, why would anyone else think saving YOUR RIGHTS would be worthwhile?
These politicos only think about staying in positions of power, and to them, VOTES MATTER. If there are a thousand citizens demanding their heads milling about outside the conference room, or visibly present during open debates, or contacting them throughout the session by email, phone calls, Socialist media, personal visits, etc; they will HAVE to notice. Continuous pressure is needed to change ANY (d)s tiny mind.
