Had been seeing chiriorpracter with some positive results but looking for regular doctors opinion. What type of specialists have you had success with?

Orthopedic doctor is what you want.

I've been to every specialist about my back, but They all said that I would never walk again. So I resolve myself to being in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. Then I went to a acupuncture specialist, within two weeks I was up and walking around I am no longer dependent on a wheelchair. Within a couple of months I could actually go hiking again. Within four months, I was back to work laying brick and block. Go to a acupuncture specialist

Orthopedic doctor is the term I was after. Actupunture is another option. Hip is the worst problem. Doesn't realy hurt bad but bad enough that I have to sit down after a few hundred feet or less. Seemed to pop up all at once. No fun.

When that orthopedic doctor suggests surgery, back up a step and take a long look.

Wow coincidence. Just had total hip replacement last tues. Orthopedic surgeon. He doesn't do backs. Neurologists do backs. Mine said to get my hip done first, then he might be able to help me. My hip was gone. Cysts and spurs and no cartilage. My s-1 l-1 and l-1 l-2 discs are gone too. Spinal stenosis he called it. The hip repl. Is no easy thing at all. Its looking better. Getting adjusted to pain meds was an experience. Got too much and couldn't sleep because I couldn't breathe. Switched to tylenol only and couldn't take it. Got it figured out now.

Surgery would be my last option at this point. Had major heart surgery 4 weeks ago on my aortia. No picnic and lucky to be alive. Hip and back issues started the same time the heart issue was diagnosed.

I've had both hips resurfaced and the right hip replaced.
    Do the therapy!
    Good luck to you.

Over the years I've three orthopedic surgeons operate on me, one three times. All did fine work and would use any of them again if needed.

But ONLY A NEUROSURGEON touches my spine.

Hip & back pain were the precursors to my congestive heart failure 3 years ago, if I'd known what I learned in the CCU; I'd have paid more attention to my health. It was sudden onset hip pain while I was walking a section line, and when I stopped to rest; lower back pain started.
Stayed painful/tender for a month before my hospitalization.
But every body is different, no matter what the progliblefties say.
