Avira suddenly stopped working

My computer says the antivirus is turned off. It won't let me run a scan.

I went to the avira site and downloaded the free program again. When I try to start it I get an error message that the license is out of date.

Running XP pro with a pentium processor.
I used to recruit for the NRA until they sold us down the river (again!) in Heller v. DC. See my auctions (if any) under username henryreilly

    Goggle Avast! antivirus. Install it, run it, then look for Safer Networking website. Download their stuff & run it as well.
    XP is good stuff, but since the clowns that released it have abandoned it; the Folk with Hats have been busily exploring its' vulnerabilities.
