Quick draw?

Got to practice my quick draw today, marshal Dillon still has me beat. I ran onto a rattle snake in the middle of the trail and found out two things, there is no such thing as a quick draw from a pocket holster and Hornady critical defense will make a mess of a big snake even when fired from a 2" J frame 357. I expect that will upset a lot of snake lovers but it was right close to where I was going to be working and I didn't need any poisonous vipers under foot, I'm an old man and my hearing isn't so good. Now you might say my hearing would be better if I stopped shooting rattlers in narrow rock canyons but like I said I'm an old man and set in my ways so that isn't going to happen.

My horse was a Honda Rancher and he never even flinched at the shot.[:)] I barely heard it myself. I guess the adrenaline had something to do with it.
I don't give them a warning to go away either.
Well I hope you picked it up to eat for dinner, nothing finer than rattlesnake Meat
I'll take your word for that but I still think I'll pass.
