What's your favorite team and what are your expectations for them this year.
Old Miss here, might win 8 games with some luck, but I'm thinking seven. Manning can't do it all by himself.

A football player died and went to heaven. St. Peter met the football player at the pearly gates. St. Peter told the football player that he would like being in heaven. The football player asked "do you have football here in heaven?" St. Peter responded "if you look over that way you can see the football team practicing." The football player asks "who is the coach over there with the big nose and turned up pant cuffs". St. Peter says, "that's God, he sometimes thinks he is Joe Paterno." Go Nittany Lions.

    Texas A&M
    University of Texas
    Arkansas
    Oklahoma University

And most of the other old Southwest Conference teams.

OU has a chance to go all the way.

    God Bless the Cotton Bowl.[:D]

I'm a major Big 12 supporter all the way, however it'd probably be:
    Oklahoma University
    then
    Oklahoma State University

But for sure it is whomever is beating Walte's Longhorns! [:D]
I am suprised to see OU rated #1 in the coaches poll, above Miami and Ohio State. I'd bet the other polls will be different. OU could take it if they can keep Jason White healthy, they're sure going to miss Griffen in the backfield and Lehman at linebacker.

    Bambi,

Are you too young to remember the old Sothwest Conference? Man, those were the good old days. Got to go to every Texas/OU weekend at the old Cotton bowl with my dad. The modern "Red River Shootouts" are nothing like the old ones. They started going down hill in the late 70's. Those were some of the best games ever played!

How do you make an Aggie go crazy? Put him in a round room and tell him to piss in the corner.

Dang! Here I was thinking the Booger clan were righteous Pennsylvanians. We breathed the same air, tromped the same hills at times. Knew the convoluted hunting and fishing regs of our native state as well as we knew our children's names. And now I find that they're Penn State fans!! Of all God's pusilanimous pustules, of all the blow hard windbags in the numerous conferences and divisions of college football, of all the pious, hypocritical, posturing stretchers of truth, I discover that the Booger clan support the epitome and personification of the foregoing descriptions - JOEPA "It'sferdakids" the Brooklynite!!! I am overwhelmed!

Penn State and Papa Joe found out what competition was when they moved to the Big 10 and played the big boys....they haven't done very well since....

I will give Joe some credit, for a 70 some year old man he can sure run across a football field quick....anyone see him do that 100 yd dash last year after a game?

dheffley - yeah, I was too young to remember the 70's much (born in '71), at least football. I have been a Sooner fan since the mid-80's. I graduated from high school in S.W. Missouri in '89 and part of my "Where will you be in 10 years and what will you be doing" sheet we filled out said we'd be living here and that I'd just graduated from O.U. Well, plans didn't work out totally - I'm just going to get an associates from OCCC and that's it!

The Red River shoot-out last year was great! Texas was rated higher and expected to win and O.U. won AT Texas. I'm concerned about the team this year even though they are rated high. With White as QB they'll do well if they can keep him healthy, I don't know what they have in reserve. If Stoops can figure out why they get beat with a quick QB that can pass (like either T A&M or T.T. and also OSU) that got 'em bad last year.

I'm not really a major sports watcher anyway. I loved to play almost all sports in school. I played football, basketball, and ran track. When I switched schools my junior year the coach asked me to try out for soccer because they didn't have a football team. I tried it for 3 weeks and the coach said I'd be a starter but I really didn't like it. Now, with all my back problems it often depresses me to watch sports because I could have done so much more with my life. Heck, I've won several waterskiing tourney's... [:(]
