Today was the first day of the "official" crow hunting season! Took Levi and we went to a select place. I guess it was the thunderstorms in the area that kept the numbers down! We didn't get the big bunches of 20-30 coming in but did have a bunch of singles and doubles checking out the decoys and the calling. 12 of them won't eat any more corn!!!! Pretty good morning considering the weather. Just got back to the truck when the sky opened up like a cow peeing on a flat rock. Rained over an inch in short order! Glad that it was only 30% chance of scattered showers! Thinking about starting an ark!!!! GHD

    ghd, are you serious?

I'm sure we don't have as many crows here as in serious corn country, but we have open season year round.

Why would they protect them when they destroy so much grain?

Sounds like a good day, rain and all! Squirrel season came in here today. Usually never miss an opening day, but it was just way too dang hot and humid this morning, and WAY to many skeeters and ticks still out. Now if the first frost would only come, it would be perfect!

BUT...I did go pick up the Super Redhawk in 480 that I got from Alglore. Dang, that is one whopper of a revolver! I put 40 rounds through it this morning, and my wrist and arms will never be the same!!! [:o)]

BTW GHD...got the quarters out yesterday!

Taxation WITH representation isn't so hot either!

Outdoortexas, Serious as a heart attack about the stupid crow season! And on top of the fact that there is a season, you're only supposed to hunt on Mon.,Wed.,Fri and Saturday!!! However the next one that falls victim to the 17 or 25-06 or whatever I have while groundhog hunting won't be the first to go out of season! We just don't set up and call and have the big shoots unless it's in "season"!!!
Bhayes, I'll bet your arm is tired!!! I put one of those "LimbSaver" recoil pads on the 300SAUM and it helped immensely!!! Have to thank varminthunter for giving me that tip! GHD
