i had a win mod 70 rifle rebarreled(300win mag) with a hart stainless fluted barrel (a number 7 contour)
got it back yesterday got it mounted in a chaote varmint stock and scope put on last nite.. shot it this afternoon it shot a .464" three shot group @100yds with factory shells ...with reloads i think i can get better heck i know it will do better i was shooting off the tool box of my pickup with a pretty good wind today ...if you can imagine a 6'1" tall guy trying to shoot off a tool box on a pickup box:-) racked myself once doing it.. ouch ...on a bench it will do better i believe, could'nt use my bench as i have in my shop covered with a diesel pickup fuel system so did'nt want to monkey with it. now i know i really hate them spagetti barrels they come with from the factory.

Good deal on your rifle cowdoc:)

I just spent a week up in you neck of the woods grouse hunting. I was over by Harold running an errand one day. I was thinking that was close to you.

Did really good one day and got skunked the next. You should carry your shotgun with you. They are good eating little buggers.

    Varmint hunter
I really like the choate varmint stock i am pretty long armed so i can make the pull lenght longer to fit me better with the extra spacers that come with the stock (and still looks good) ...just feels right to me, perfect fit when you shoot with one...they are heavy tough think around five+ lbs.
I am going to get another one soon for another rifle that i need to put a good stock on.
