I'm going to bed, but am looking forward to all the responses, pro or con, on this topic.Should I do it? I am a republican, now...if that means anything any more. Alright, G'night.

Remember Florida. Why even bother to vote if you are going to throw it away?

While not every Republican is with us, every vote for a non-Republican is a vote for a Democrat. The votes for Perot elected Klinton, just as the votes for Nadar elected Bush43. (Thank you to all the dumb Democrats who thought Gore was not liberal enough and went with Nadar instead!)While I support the Libertarian platform to a large degree, a vote for a Libertarian is a vote for a Democrat. The 2002 and 2004 elections are critical to our Second Amendment and other important rights. (The "Assault Weapons" law sunsets in 2004.) Do not cast a second hand vote for a Democrat by voting for any third party candidate not matter how attractive.

I don't understand the desire to join ANY party. Vote for who and what you want, independently.I'm conservative by nature and generally vote that way, but there are lots of Republican Party positions I do not agree with.

Its a great party, if you like abortion.Vote for who you want. Dont listen to anyone telling you you are throwing your vote away. A politician has to earn my vote, and he is not going to get it by being the lessor of two evils.

I've always operated on the following. Most people have two, maybe three main areas of interest. Pick the person who MOST CLOSELY represents your views and HAS A CHANCE TO WIN and vote for that person. There's no point in finding a person who supports ALL your views if they have no possibility of winning. I fairly certain that damn few, if any, of us would vote for a person who supported gun control even if that candidate supported ALL our other areas of interest. Of course you have to be able to pick the liars from the list of candidates. Usually fairly easy to do. THEIR LIPS ARE MOVING!!!Mudge the philosopher

I too was a big fan of the Libertarian Party, until I discovered the Constitutionalist Party. The Libertarian's are right on in their Second Amendment views, but their pro-abortion stance and their drug laws bother me.

Your vote is your choice. I agree with much of the Libertarian philosophy but cannot vote their ticket. The reason is that a vote for Libertarian is really a vote for the democraps since it takes a vote away from a Republican. The religious right and tree huggers running for president, wasting our tax dollars are largely responsible for electing klinton and nearly defeating President Bush.Think about it the next time you vote Libertarian.
